UPDATE ON NATIONALS 2020

FROM THE APA PRESIDENT: Over the last month our board members have risen to the occasion and have been hard at work developing some very creative and exciting new administrative and outreach efforts that you will be seeing in the next few days! We are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated and motivated board this year! I am extremely pleased to be working with them and cannot thank them enough! The last few months have been a challenging time for us to navigate, both as players and board leaders. Here in the MS and AL area, my club, Grand Bay Polocrosse, went from having big practices every weekend to just being able to hack around at home alone. Not being able to play with our fellow teammates has been a huge blow to a community that devotes so much time and effort to this sport. It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that 2020 Nationals will have to be postponed to 2021. The board had a very thoughtful discussion and considered the many factors that make a successful nationals tournament. Because of the canceled spring season, varying national and state regulations impacting public events, and the financial impact this pandemic has brought to our community and organization alike, we made the decision to postpone. But we want our community to stay engaged throughout the remaining season! We will be bringing you a new series of videos called “Polocrosse Will Return” this week! So stay tuned! Please feel free to reach out to me or the APA FB page if you have any questions, especially about maintaining your club’s engagement and practice skills until we are able to play together again! Thank you! Katelyn James President American Polocrosse Association kjames@americanpolocrosse.org
